From their elevated position, the rooms at Villa Volpi dominate the surrounding landscape and offer sprawling views of the countryside.
Sitting high on top of a hill, surrounded by its olive groves and vineyards, Villa Volpi encapsulates the essence of the Tuscan lifestyle. Formal Italian gardens, shaded romantic hideouts and sprawling views combine in the most elegant way to create an impression of timeless beauty. The villa’s large rooms, decorated with taste, seem to invite nature inside.
Originally built by bishop Volpi of Lucca in the 19th century as a private residence, the villa became a convent of the oblate sisters of Saint Zita in the 1940s. The convent played an important role in the local community as well as remaining a centre of olive oil and wine production, but over the years fell into disrepair.
After falling in love with its history and incredible location, Lorenzo and Laurence Solari decided to restore it to its former splendour and bring the fields and gardens back to life through natural and organic practices. The convent now offers 6 elegant guest rooms as well as indoor and outdoor spaces that make the perfect setting for all kinds of events. The natural swimming pool is the perfect place to enjoy the refreshing luxury of water in a sustainable way.
